Situated in the heart of Cernobbio, Villa Erba offers a beautiful setting for a destination wedding, combining its historic architecture with the timeless beauty of Lake Como. Photographing this celebration allowed me to focus on what matters most: the genuine connection between an incredibly elegant and spontaneous couple who knew how to fully enjoy every moment of their day.
The story began in the elegant suites of Villa Erba, where the bridal preparations took place. Soft natural light filled the rooms, creating a quiet and intimate atmosphere before the ceremony. We also took a few moments for bridal portraits, keeping the photographs natural and unforced and allowing the anticipation of the day to unfold naturally.
The couple then exchanged their vows at the beautiful San Vincenzo church, just a short distance from the villa.
After the ceremony, we walked through the charming streets of Cernobbio for some time together. Their natural chemistry and genuine enjoyment of being photographed made the session effortless. Rather than relying on rigid poses, I prefer to create space for couples to interact naturally, allowing the photographs to grow out of real moments between them.
Back at Villa Erba, the celebration continued with an outdoor aperitif overlooking the gardens and the lake. From this point, my approach became almost entirely documentary: moving quietly among the guests and observing the laughter, conversations and small moments that often become the most meaningful memories of the day.
As evening arrived, dinner moved indoors. The elegant interiors of Villa Erba naturally became part of the story, including a few portraits on the grand staircase — simple, timeless images that felt completely at home within the atmosphere of the evening.
The celebration ended under the open sky with the cake cutting, followed by a lively dance party that carried the night forward.
Photographing weddings on Lake Como is always a privilege, but what I value most is creating photographs that feel true to the people in front of my camera — elegant when the moment calls for it, spontaneous when it happens naturally, and always deeply connected to the experience itself.
